It has come to our attention that the response time from Amazon’s notice-dispute department has significantly slowed down. There could be a few reasons that this is occurring.

One reason for this could be that Amazon is shifting resources away from notice-dispute, therefore overloading their system. It could also be that there are many more brands making complaints.

At Rosenbaum Famularo, PC, law firm behind AmazonSellersLawyer.com, we have seen a tremendous increase in the amount of intellectual property (IP) complaints being filed. Sellers everywhere are now receiving a greater amount of complaints, which in turn leads to a larger amount of appeals being filed and sent to notice-dispute, leading to longer response times.

When we finally do receive a response from Amazon, it seems that they are requesting more information, asking sellers to provide greater detail in their appeals, which leads to more submissions and a greater lag time towards getting reinstated. In instances where it would usually take one or two submissions to get reinstated, it is now taking three or four, again contributing to longer turnaround times.

At the moment, we can only speculate as to why it is taking so much longer for appeals to be addressed. What we can tell sellers is that they should, more than ever, stay updated on Amazon’s newest policies and practices as a form of suspension prevention to help keep up their account health.

Now more than ever, it is important that sellers maintain excellent performance metrics to help prevent their accounts from being suspended because it is taking so much longer to get reinstated.
