The Unpredictability of Litigation & What to Expect as an AMZ Seller Getting SUED

Amazon sellers, I absolutely hate when you end up in court.

So generally, an AMZ seller getting sued, or if you sue somebody else, the other side usually asks the court to throw the case out. It happens all the time. Sometimes those requests to throw the case in the toilet have merit. Sometimes they don’t and they’re just killing time.

This is what I hate about the process. I hate how long it takes. But more importantly, I hate the fact that judges will often compel you to continue to litigate the case, to continue to engage in what’s called the discovery process before the courts even decide whether it’s going to keep the case or throw it out.

So these are things you need to know:

You should never let any lawyer talk you into litigation unless there are two really, really important things in your favor.

Number one, the amount of money you hope to recover is at least three to five times whatever that lawyer’s going to charge you.

Number two, is there a place to actually collect your money at the end of the day.

If you’re missing either of those, don’t let any lawyer talk you into litigation. It is not a good idea because litigation, when it comes to business matters, should be anticipated to result in a profit for you, not just for the lawyer.
