Amazon Requesting Employee Identification Number (EIN) for Proof of Insurance

Hi, everyone. My name is David Miller, I’m the managing attorney of our business law for sellers department. Today, I’m going to speak a bit about insurance and having an employer identification number (EIN).

Now, in order to obtain insurance, if you’re an Amazon seller and you need insurance, you are going to have to make sure you have an EIN.

If you don’t have a social security number, for example, say you’re overseas, your company is a foreign entity, you are going to need an EIN.

Amazon is asking more frequently for proof of insurance.

So in order to show that you have insurance, the first step is to get an employee identification number.
