Retail Arbitrage – Tips for Sellers

How to avoid suspensions and get your account / ASINs back if suspended.

WHAT IS RETAIL ARBITRAGE?

It’s where a retail store sells a product (either online or in-store) for a certain price. Someone then purchases that product and sells it for a higher price, and pockets the profit.

HERE’S A TIP:

Scan all receipts. One of the smaller things you could do to protect your account is buy a receipts scanner. One of the things Amazon pushes is automation and technology. You can get these scanners really cheap and they work really well. There’s apps that people can use on their phone where you can take a picture and it can act as a PDF. We can use that later on if you are suspended to show that you bought it from a reliable source.

BE PROACTIVE AND PREPARED:

If you have all the information organized while sourcing, you will have them ready if Amazon asks you for 180 or 365 days of receipts. One software that we recommend is called Shoebox. Shoebox is really good for all sellers. When you scan it in, it has organization already built in.

MONITOR INVENTORY:

The age of the invoice and receipt could present a significant problem where you will have to address it in your plan of action. This reinforces why it is a great idea to hire us to do your plan of action. We work in a collaborative environment. You get the benefit of our entire team.

When you submit those invoices and retail receipts to Amazon, you want to make sure that whoever is reading it for Amazon can pinpoint what you are trying to show right away. It could be as simple as highlighting or circling specific information and dates on the invoice.
