kickstarter collection on amazon

Today, Amazon announced the launch of the Amazon Kickstarter Collection, featuring innovative new products from creative entrepreneurs. This collection is the result of Amazon’s collaboration with Kickstarter.com. Kickstarter was founded in 2009 as a platform for entrepreneurs to promote their ideas and generate the funding needed to bring these ideas to life. On Kickstarter.com, entrepreneurs can post their project ideas, and investors can offer funding for the projects that are most intriguing, profitable and innovative.

Here are a few numbers on Kickstarter’s great success in the past few years:

Total Number of Pledges: 31,791,961

Total Amount Pledged: $2.5 Billion

Successfully Funded Projects: 109,589

Now, the Amazon Kickstarter Collection will open the floodgates for new brands to become successful much faster. Representatives from Amazon announced today that they have teamed up with Kickstarter, which will allow Kickstarter products to reap the benefits of Amazon’s global customer base.

Currently, the Amazon Kickstarter Collection showcases a selection of popular Kickstarter products in a variety of categories. Some of the brands featured include:

  • Zivix: These creative entrepreneurs developed the Zivix Jamstik / Portable Smart Guitar, a wireless system that syncs with their exclusive guitar device and provides immediate feedback. This unique product offers both a “Smart Guitar” and a virtual music instructor.
  • Prynt: Simple yet brilliant – Prynt technology allows iPhone users to create printed photos directly from the device. It works with the Prynt Case, which attaches directly to your iPhone to print photos with no ink cartridges needed.
  • Piper: This is a startup that created the Piper Computer Kit, which features a unique handcrafted wooden computer case with led lights, motion sensors, buzzers, buttons and switches.

Amazon’s partnership with Kickstarter is an innovative and effective way for creative individuals and entrepreneurs to reach a high level of success and ultimately generate much higher profits than they would without the assistance of Amazon’s worldwide client base. Here’s what the VP of Amazon, Jim Adkins, had to say about the collaboration:

“At Amazon, we work hard to offer the widest possible selection of products so that customers can find anything and everything they might want to buy online. Working with Kickstarter is a great way for us to hear directly from customers what products they care about, since they truly hold the power to bring these products to life.”
